Episode 76 - McCann & Lee Back Again

The cast of Beaucoup Pop is back, bringing you everything you need to know about whats going on in the pop culture world...and maybe some things that you didn't need to know, BUT WE GIVE IT TO YOU ANYWAY!!!

Welcome to our Halloween SUPER SIZED episode Poppers!!! Well truthfully, it's not so much a super-sized Halloween episode as it is a longer-than-usual episode filled with more AWESOME than you can handle. We do A LOT of catching up on this episode. We not only welcome a few PopStars back from the dead, but we interview the Eisner Award-winning  duo behind Return of the Dapper Men, writer Jim McCann and artist Janet Lee.

Jim McCann and Janet K Lee

We are thilled to have Janet back on the show; having previously interviewed her on Episode 26 - The Dapper Men Cometh. Now add Jim to the mix, and you'll hear why they work so well together. We talk about the release of Return of the Dapper Men Special Edition, the first volume of Mind the Gap (written by McCann), and their up and coming comic Lost Vegas.

If you found yourself compelled by the pilot to NBC’s Awake or crave the serialized mind-bending of Lost, there’s something lurking just under the surface of this seemingly ordinary slip and fall accident.

- by Paul Montgomery (iFanboy)

Lost Vegas by Jim McCann and Janet K. Lee, a sci-fi story about an intergalactic gambler who finally makes enough money to escape his planet.

Episode 75 - 80's Bliss

The cast of Beaucoup Pop is back, bringing you everything you need to know about whats going on in the pop culture world...and maybe some things that you didn't need to know, BUT WE GIVE IT TO YOU ANYWAY!!!

The month of October has been like a classic slasher movie staring the BCP crew. Members have been dropping like flies! Now, as we approach All Hallows' Eve, Tressa and Justin are the only Popstars who've survived! Does Tressa have what it takes to be the "Survivor Girl?" Will Justin be the comic relief character you think died early on, only to show up ALIVE in the end? Only time will tell. Poor Matt and Kerry...one of them must have shown their tits (SLUT!), and didn't one of them say they'd, "Be right back?"

But all is not lost. Our survivors picked up a couple of locals to join them in their escape, Sara and Brain Turner from Cricket Press!!  They chat it up with Shawn Robare from Branded in the 80's, a website dedicated to bringing you 80's classic goodness throughout the year. But during the month of October,  Branded in the 80's does a COUNTDOWN TO HALLOWEEN! This years focus, 31 Days of Monsters, everything from Slimer to Belfry! Be sure to check it out.

Be sure to check out the work of our amazing guests from Cricket Press!! They were once again comissioned to create the poster for Lexington's biggest downtown events, the 2012 Thriller Parade, feature hundereds of zombies and thousands of spectators. Crazy Pants!

Episode 73 - Sculpting At It's Best

The cast of Beaucoup Pop is back, bringing you everything you need to know about whats going on in the pop culture world...and maybe some things that you didn't need to know, BUT WE GIVE IT TO YOU ANYWAY!!!

Welcome back Poppers!!! We kick off October with last month's Artist of the Month, Georgetown, Kentucky's Sam Greenwell. Although Sam is well versed in many of the artistic realms, he's best known for his sculpting work on MANY popular comic book figures and statues. He has worked with Hasbro, Toy Biz, Diamond Select Toys, DC Direct and Dark Horse just to name a few  Trust us, if you're a collector then you probably own something he's created.

No Justin this week, as he was working his table at ScareFest 2012 here in town, but the rest of us do a bit of catching up from our week off (including Tressa's weekend at the Cincinnati Comic Expo) and we talk of future Halloween plans!

Hello Poppers!
