20th Century Fox has released the two great official posters for the big screen adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's awesome novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter! The film is being directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Night Watch), and stars Benjamin Walker as Abe Lincoln.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is a re-imagining of the 16th President's life that depicts him as an axe-throwing, highly accomplished killer of vampires -- an obsession of his since those bloodsuckers supposedly took the life of his mother. Lincoln eventually learns that the vampires have fled to the southern states of the U.S. and are concocting a plan to conquer and enslave the entire country -- this in turn leads to the Civil War between the Union and the Confederacy, the latter of which the vampires are aligned with.
I'm actually kinda excited about this film. I really enjoy Bekmambetov's style, and this will also be the first film adaptation of Grahame's work which as taken off in sales these past few years. So what do you guys think of the new look?

I'm the only person I know who loved Night Watch. Can you believe I've yet to see Day Watch and I've had it on DVD since 2006?! #fail
I LOVE Night Watch!!!! It's been forever since I've seen either of them though. Day Watch was cool, but I remember not liking it as much.
I AM SO EXCITED. And Christopher, I freaking ADORE Night Watch. And I'm the exact same way with Day Watch, I've had it on DVD for years, got it super cheap, and still haven't watched it... We can fail together. :3
I can't wait for this movie. I'm all a tickle. And holy bananas those posters are SO COOL, I want one, haha.
The posters are pretty intense. I have a soft spot for the one in the Oval Office. It's cool to imagine Lincoln sitting in there twirling an axe chomping at the bit to taken down some Vamps!
So I guess this means neither of us are in a rush for the third and final installment to be released? LOL
HAHA yeah...though I guess if it did it would give me incentive to finally pull it off the shelf and watch it :p
Night Watch was the stuff. Day Watch...meh. Not sure I even finished it.
So that's two people who thought Day Watch was a step down in quality. Now I don't feel so bad for not having seen it yet. But I plan to soldier on and get through it. Maybe that will be my New Year's resolution.
