BCP Mixed Tapes - Top 10 Albums
On this weeks episode we discussed our top 5 favorite albums. As many of us (namely Matt) were on the verge of maddness trying to narrow it down to 5 albums, we decied to post our top 10 favorite ablums. As an additional treat, we've included our most disappointing album as well.
1. Sigh No More - Mumford and Sons
2. Rumor and Sigh - Richard Thompson

8. A Fine Frenzy - One Cell in the Sea
9. Love Travels - Angel Taylor <-- This album is AMAZING!
10. Hazards of Love - The Decemberists
Most Disappointing Album
The Reason - Hoobastank
My reasoning - I was in College when this album came out. The song The Reason BLEW up on the radio and I used to sing with it all the time in my car. Naturally, I had to buy the CD. I had no prior exposure to this band so I had no idea what they're prior music sounded like. Once I started listening to the album I quickly realzed that thye rest of the album sounded NOTHING like the title track. I HATE when albums are like that!! Every track sounded like angry grunge rock which is NOT my style during that time in my life. I was listening to albums by bands like Coldplay, Dredg, Acceptance and Marjorie Fair. Bleah! This album just pissed me off and I could never get over it. What can I say, I'm a Scorpio. ^_^
2. Reel Big Fish - "Turn the Radio Off"
3. Rage Against the Machine - "Rage Against the Machine"
4. John Coltrane - "Giant Steps"
5. Run D.M.C. - "King of Rock"
6. Guns 'N Roses - "Appetite for Destruction"
7. Miles Davis - "Birth of the Cool"
8. Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Blood Sugar Sex Magik"
9. Vince Guaraldi Trio - "A Boy Named Charlie Brown"
10. Parliament - "Clones of Dr. Funkenstein"
Tressa's Top 10
1. Abby Road - The Beatles
2. Hello Nasty - The Beastie Boys
3. Black Holes and Revelations - Muse
4. OK Computer - Radiohead
5. The Battle of Los Angeles - Rage Against The Machine
6. The Blue Album - Weezer
7. Automatic for the People - R.E.M.
8. Band on the Run - Wings
9. Odelay - Beck
10. Sigh No More - Mumford and Sons
Most Disappointing Album
X&Y - Coldplay
3. Rage Against the Machine - "Rage Against the Machine"
4. John Coltrane - "Giant Steps"

9. Odelay - Beck
10. Sigh No More - Mumford and Sons
Most Disappointing Album
X&Y - Coldplay
My reasoning - I loved Coldplay when they released Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head, and I was so psyched to hear their new album in 2005, X&Y....I was so so sooooo disappointed. The album just wasn't nearly as good as the previous, it felt hollow and uninspiring. It turned me off to them completely.

Movie Review: Priest
Greetings listeners...and in this instance readers. :) I had the chance to watch the latest vampire flick Priest directed by Scott Stewart who also brought us the lovely p.o.s. Legion. YAY!!!!! no. Don’t worry there are no spoilers…not that anyone gives a rat’s ass.
Listen, I knew this was gonna be bad, but I really had no idea how bad....really really bad guys. The opening credits are the best part of seeing this movie in theaters, well that and you get the trailer for the Fright Night remake (Tennant!!! ^_^).
So if you happen to go see it in theaters, leave after the opening credits and get your refund…you’ll thank me later.

Free Comic Book Day LIVE ART Event!
Hey hey!! Kerry here. :) As everyone knows, yesterday was Free Comic Book Day! We had talked on our last episode about going around to different places as Tressa and Justin showed off their amazing artistic skillz. I stood around, took pictures, and just hung out.
Our first stop of the day was at Half Price Books. They were hosting the silent auction we mentioned on the show (of which Justin contributed some older art to). They also had stuff for the kids: coloring and a hammer toss! On top of that, all their comic-related books were 20% off.
Justin did two pieces while we were there - one of Loki and Enchantress (pictured below) and one of Thor's arm holding up Mjolnir - which he's working on in the picture to the right. Tressa did a close-up of Thor, also in the picture to the right. His hair is all swirly, and look at that epic beard!!! :-D
(all are shown below a little better as well)
Around 3pm everything got packed up and we made our way to our second stop: our local comic shop Collectibles Etc.! They had a table set up that artists had been coming and going throughout the day. The big thing they had going were blank cover issues of comics that you could get for $5 and have an artist to a custom sketch of.
Justin and Tressa both had the honor of doing one of these:
Then, around 6, everything got packed up again and we made it to our last stop...
Movie Tavern!!!
There they did the whole thing over again until 10pm rolled around and we went to see the almighty Thor (which we all quite enjoyed - you can hear more come Wednesday when our newest episode is uploaded)! Here, Justin did two more pieces, Betaray Bill and a very raunchy (and hilarious) Green Lantern. Tressa started a different Thor, the classic hammer smacking on the ground.
I took quite a few more pictures, and Matt got some as well, that I just don't want to bog this post down with. I'll work on making sure they are accessible on our Facebook group page, or put them all on a photo sharing site.
Check back with us on Wednesday, pop in, and listen to us chat about our adventures! Stories to go with pictures! ^_^
Until then, Kerry out!

C2E2 2011 Video Diary Part 5
More of C2E2. We check out a bunch of really cool toys coming out and see lots of cosplayers! We also got to visit several panels on Saturday. My (Matt's) camera went kaput around this time so I had to scour the internet to find some decent pics and videos to use as filler. Thanks internet!! The music used in the video is "Running" by Computer Magic.

Jesus, Judas and a Gaga Beer Bath?
Let the backlash begin! Lady Gaga releases new video for Judas. I'm sure there will be PLENTY of people out there who will find this video offensive. You want Religious overtones? It's got plenty. (sung like Ariel from The Little Mermaid)
Gaga playing a modern-day Mary Magdalene riding with a biker gang (Heaven's Angels?) comprised of Jesus and his apostles. O_O! My favorite part is when Gaga is writing in a bath with both Jesus and Judas who are pouring beer on her...odd I must say.
And if you've been in the dark about Gaga as my friend Adam apparently has been, here her last video for Born This Way. Enjoy!

This Is What I'm Listening To...Fleet Foxes
As mentioned in my new releases blog yesterday, Fleet Foxes has a new album out this week entitled Happlessness Blues.
Fleet Foxes is a folk (baroque pop) band from Seattle. The broke into the mainstream music scene with their second EP, Sun Giant, and their debut full length album Fleet Foxes, both of which are excellent. They are reminiscent of 60's era folk and psychedelic folk music. Check 'em out!
Fleet Foxes - Grown Ocean from Fleet Foxes on Vimeo.
You can Download the title track off their website here and pick up a copy (or digital download) here.

Seckman's Selections - New Releases (05/03/11)
Apparently my New Releases radar is broken because I missed a few interesting items on this weeks episode (Ep. 7) so here's a more inclusive list:
MUSIC:
All of You by Colbie Caillat [RELEASE DATE 07/12/11]
Amazon updated info for Colbie Caillat's new Album All of You which is not being released on May 3rd but July 12. They only have info about an Import edition, not a domestic one. Urg! I'll look in to this one.
LOVE? by Jennifer Lopez (or J-Lo if you remember that phase. Really, what was that all about? LOL)
BLU-RAY/DVD:
Being Human Season 3 [BBC Version]
The Dilemma
And then there's this...Thumbs up for Jennifer Connelly...but other than that...bleah!
Thor: God of Thunder (PS3, X-Box, Wii, 3DS)

LOVE? by Jennifer Lopez (or J-Lo if you remember that phase. Really, what was that all about? LOL)
First single off the album is pretty good, but I just feel like she's trying to hard. Personally, I'd rather see her making more films than music.
Glamazon by RuPaul (yep, RuPaul is still making music)
This is RuPaul's 5th album. The album was released digitally on April 25 to coincide with the 3rd season finale of RuPaul's Drag Race.
In Your Dreams is Nicks' first CD (of new songs) since the release of her 2001 album Trouble in Shangri-La. Good or bad, there will always be a soft spot for me with Stevie Nicks, so I'm excited to see she's still working (and living in an enchanted forest as well).
29-track, two-disc album that includes four new, never-before heard songs including a remix of "The Moon And The Sky" (featuring Jay-Z). The Ultimate Collection also features 15 tracks that were not included on Sade's 1994 "Best Of" album. Let the baby making begin!
I've never been a big fan of the Beastie Boys but practically everyone I know is, so I expect this will bring cheers from the crowd. It's their 8th studio album and is Mike "Mike D" Diamond, Adam "Ad Rock" Horovitz and Adam "MCA" Yauch's first full length effort since 2007's all-instrumental The Mix-Up.
Seriously, if you don't know who this chick is, you need to check her our. Her last three albums have been incredible. She's been wildly successful with critics
I've been listening to Dredg since their 2005 album Catch Without Arms (which is AWESEOM). Their music changed a bit on their last album The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion and I wasn't as big of a fan. Here's hoping for brighter skys with this new album, despite the freaky cover. O_O!
BLU-RAY/DVD:
The Green Hornet
Being Human Season 3 [BBC Version]
The Dilemma
And then there's this...Thumbs up for Jennifer Connelly...but other than that...bleah!

Peace Out!
