But in todays world of comics and comic based films everyone looks like they belong in a biker bar or an S&M club. It's all Leather, Leather, Leather...and the occasional Vinyl. I just don't buy it. I feel it takes away the fun and personality of all these wonderful characters. How do you think Marvel and DC have come up with THOUSANDS characters? Not by putting them all in black leather outfits, that's for sure.
There have been a few exceptions...Spider-Man's costume from the Toby Triligy...EXCELENT. Spandex...Colors...the whole package. Even the Batman costumes...while Leather or Rubber...have been pretty good. I'm a fan of the older Batman movies because they had kick ass costumes! The Joker in a full spandex body suit...Catwoman's rain coat suit...I mean, how awesome?! Watchman did an excellent Job on many of the characters as far a making them look very close to their inspirations (minus Ozymandias and Nite Owl). Iron Man is another example of an excellent costume...but it kid of doesn't count since it's made of metal (oh, and FYI, Black Widow's outfit SUCKED).
But my hope is that a new dawn is on the horizon. I recently saw a trailer for the Green Lantern and was thrilled by the new "CG" Costume. Well hot damn...Ryan Reynolds looks like he just walked off the pages of a Green Lantern Comic.

This is just the world as I see it. Matt out!

I love the strategic placement of the line break on "I loved that all the comic chicks had GIANT---80s hair." Classic.
