Forge is a new gaming and comics convention that will be held May 25-27, 2012, in Lexington, KY. This will be our first year hosting, and we have some great events in store. Though still in the planning stages, we are looking for people interested in running games, playing games, selling wares, and sponsoring Forge. What's special about this con?

First, our exhibitor's hall will be completely free to the public. It will have comics, games vendors, and artists.

Second, Forge is incorporating what every gamer loves: leveling. Joining the Forge network gives you the opportunity to earn experience points towards gaining levels which will award benefits to you. Our aim is to reward you for playing all the games you already love to play. This will allow you to compete in both a singular game, and as an overall gamer. These levels will follow you to the convention where you will have the chance to earn more points and win great prizes. Play the games you love, collect experience (successfully slay the bugbear prince in your favorite RPG? Experience. Finish first in your favorite CCG? Experience.), level up, get rewarded, and unleash your gaming prowess in the climactic Forge War. Since Forge is an annual convention, all points and levels you earn will follow you back to this network. This allows you to continue building your character during the off season, in preparation for the next convention.

Why do you want to level?

Primarily, for the benefits and prizes, but we make it more than that: Forge has an overall storyline that is ingrained in our convention and network. We are roleplayers and believe that the best parts of roleplaying are the stories and involvement. From the beginning, members will be able to follow the story of Forge and also participate. Everyone has the chance to change the course of the plot and have their character show up in the storyline. As a climax, we will run the Forge War at the end of every convention where all of the attendees can enlist their characters into different armies which will battle to see who is victorious. The higher your character's level, the more powerful they will be in battle. The convention's top prizes will be given out at the end of the war and the outcome of the battle will determine the course of the story.
